Zero Vote: Imo APC Delegates Who were Okorocha’s Former Allies But Failed To Vote Him For Presidency
It is no longer news that former Imo Governor Rochas Okorocha, scored zero vote at the recently concluded APC Presidential primary.
It has been revealed that some of his former aides and associates while his was governor, were amongst the delegates who refused to give him even a single vote.
Imo State fielded an 81-man delegates list which had former associates of Okorocha as members.
None of them however deemed Okorocha worthy to get their votes despite years of service with him.
Amongst those on the list is a former commissioner during Okorocha era and former National officer of the party, a position influenced by Okorocha, Emma Ibediro.
From the turn out of events, despite the fact Okorocha stood for the Onuimo born politician in the past, Ibediro did not find his former boss worthy of getting his vote.
Ibediro was the House of Assembly Service Commissioner, under Okorocha and through Okorocha, he would become the state Secretary of the party, before going to the national.
A former Isiala Mbano TC chairman under Okorocha made the list, as did his former Ezinihitte Mbaise TC Chairman and former State Chairman of APC, Chief Hilary Eke.
Okorocha found Eke worthy to serve in both positions, but Eke obviously didn’t find Okorocha worthy of his vote.
Chief Charles Amadi and Prof Edna Njoku, both from Ikeduru, are also known allies of the former governor when he was in power.
Neither of them found Okorocha worthy of their votes.
Chief EJK Onyewuchi refused to give Okorocha his vote and neither did Remignus Igbokwe, Ralph Igbokwe’s brother find Okorocha worthy of his vote.
Even his former Commissioner for Art and Culture from Orsu LGA, Hon Val Mbamala, shunned Okorocha.
