Why terrorists are taking over FCT – Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer

The counsel to the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has said terrorists are gradually making their way into the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

Ejiofor blamed the terrorists’ invasion of FCT on the compromised security architecture of Nigeria.

In a statement on his Facebook page, Ejiofor said despite assurance that terrorists have repented, a lot of them have been drafted into the security apparatus of the country.

According to Ejiofor: “Not too long ago, terrorists ‘broke’ into Kuje prison in the heart of Nigeria’s capital city and took away several of their high profile members and other inmates.

“The country moved on as if nothing happened; none of those terrorists was arrested nor was any prison or government official prosecuted for their roles in the so-called ‘prison break’. It was business as usual.

“Today, we hear gut wrenching tales of daring atrocities being committed by these terrorists, from the Christmas day massacre in Plateau State to the various successive kidnappings.

“These terrorists have graduated and have moved their operations from other states and are now running rampage unchecked, kidnapping and killing people in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, and many people are acting surprised.

“Sadly, we have been told time and time again, that these terrorists have ‘repented’, and many of them have been drafted into the security apparatus of the country.

“And you wonder why insecurity in the country is alarmingly on the increase. The security architecture of Nigeria has been compromised for a long time.

“Unfortunately, we are all being made to suffer and pay for it. There was indeed a country.”
