…Narrate how Okonji was hired to malign Committee’s image

The Committee on Security Data Capturing and Painting under the supervision of Imo State Ministry of Transport said her attention has been drawn to a malicious media report accusing the Committee Chairman, Elder Anaelechi Ukawune and Treasurer,Hon. Kingsley Nwachukwu of diverting at least ₦400 million into private pause.

Speaking to newsmen, Elder Ukawune popularly called “Obowo” stated that their operations are transparent and verifiable in Imo Ministry of Transport urging members of the general public to ignore the publication.

He disclosed that the Committee was recently audited by the State and never found wanting in any form.

According to him, “the publication was infantile and lacks merit as the author, Daniel Okonji has no accurate information about the operations of the Committee. It is on record that the so-called Imo Niger Delta Transporters Association which he claims to be the BOT Chairman remains illegal body.

The group is not registered with CAC nor registered with Imo State Ministry of Transport. His overzealous act has created another faction called “Comot body” from the group. His grievance is that he was suspended as Secretary of Amalgamated Drivers Association over gross-misconduct. And since then,he has been fighting like a drown man.

Obviously, opposition party, Labour Party,LP where he belongs,has been using him to fight Governor Hope Uzodimma’s Government.

Writing petition is not a new thing,but what matters is to prove the petition.

We are ready to appear before the House of Assembly Committee on Transport any moment we are called as we have no skeleton in cawboard”.

Reacting to the alleged  conversion of 12 (twelve) stolen vehicles recovered by the team to his personal use, against the directive of the State Government,Obowo challenged Mr. Okonji to prepare his evidences so as to buttress his claims maintaining that the law shall take it cause.

When contacted via cellphone, a top official of the Ministry of Transport who did not want his name on print expressed confidence on Obowo and his led Committee insisting that the Ministry is ever ready to defend the Committee whenever the need arises.

He however acknowledged the recent audit of the Committee by the Office of Imo State Auditor-General.
