Uche Ogbuagu, Others Risk Sack From Imo Assembly Over Labour Party Romance

Members of the Imo State House of Assembly who have started romancing with the Labour Party may soon be faced with sanctions.

With the wave being raised by the Labour Party’s Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, many politicians from the APC, PDP, APGA who had lost at the primaries, have been linked to moves to the LP.

Chief amongst those linked to moves to Labour Party, is the member representing Ikeduru State Constituency, Uche Ogbuagu.

The comedian cum politician may soon be faced with serious trouble for allegedly picking the Labour Party ticket for Mbaike House of Representatives seat.

It can be recalled that Ogbuagu lost the APC ticket for the House of Representatives for Mbaitoli/Ikeduru, to Mr. Akarachi Amadi in the recently conducted primaries of the party.

Following the Peter Obi political windfall, Ogbuagu is said to have claimed to have withdrawn from the race and joined Labour party.

It was evident with his recent Facebook posts which read; “Peter Obi nwere Uche, our movement, our destination”.

Ogbuagu has also placed his picture alongside Obi’s picture on his campaign adverts.

Ogbuagu’s actions, which is similar to what transpired with Obinna Okwara of Nkwerre, would most likely anger the APC and could lead to severe consequences as with the case of Okwara, whose seat was vacated for defecting to the opposition PDP.

Some other Lawmakers are expected to take similar steps to secure their political survival having lost at the primaries of their parties.
