Uche Nwosu Drags another Imolite to Court

Barely days after the former governorship candidate of the Action Alliance AA and Okorocha’s son-in-law, Mr Uche Nwosu dragged a journalist and Anglican Knight, Sir Collins Ughalaa to court, for allegedly calling him a “suspected criminal”, a document have emerged showing that Nwosu had in June of 2021, also dragged another Imolite and former New Media Director of the Imo State Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Mr. Ambrose Nwaogwugwu to court, for alleged defamation of character.

From the document now circulating on the social media and attached below, Nwaogwugwu upon failure to appear before the court, could face arrest.

On his part, Nwaogwugwu denied being served any such document, and was just made aware of it.

It could be recalled that a journalist, Nwadike Precious, had blown the whistle of the alleged disappearance of part of the bailout funds received from the Federal Government, during the Okorocha administration.

Nwadike stated that the money was in Nwosu’s custody, and his domestics aides made away with part of it.

Nwadike was dragged to court by Uche Nwosu but he would emerge victorious.

Nwaogwugwu while reacting to the court document now made aware to him, published the article he wrote which attracted the suit and it reads as follows:

Uche Nwosu: Emergency Philanthropist And The IMO’s N26.8 Billion Missing Bailout Funds

By the year 2015, during the excruciating economic downturn and recession – the Federal Government in her wisdom introduced what was called ‘bailout funds’. These bailout funds running into tens of Billions of Naira were shared to some state in the country to help cushion the effects of the economic recession and aid the state struggling to help pay her work force.

Imo State was one of the beneficiaries. Imo State benefited about 30 Billion Naira.

The then Governor Rochas Okorocha entrusted the Imo State share of the bailout funds into the hands of his Son-in-law and Chief of Staff – Mr. Uche Nwosu.

Mr. Uche Nwosu was made the chairman of the Disbursement Committee set up by the governor.

One thing led to the other; stories started emanating of how the bailout funds developed wings and disappeared from the custody of Mr. Uche Nwosu.

It was alleged that the sum of 26.8 Billion Naira was stolen by a domestic staff of Mr. Uche Nwosu who was his cook named Henry.

And that was the last of what was heard of the Imo’s share of the bailout funds.

Workers and pensioners the funds were meant to settle their entitlements were unpaid till after the tenure of Gov. Rochas Okorocha and even after leaving office – some have remained unpaid because the state government has started repaying the loan the state never used.

What is interesting in the whole drama is that prime suspects in the alleged theft were either transfered out of circulation or found dead.

In fact, CSP John Ezeji, the Investigating Police Officer (IPO) who was handling the case of the missing Imo bail-out funds was reported to have died mysteriously ahead of the next hearing date when he was expected to appear in court as witness. It was reported that he was poisoned.

And the Aide and domestic staff of Mr. Uche Nwosu who was alleged to have eloped with the 26.8 Billion Naira stashed in foreign currencies is no where to be found till today. The domestic staff is said to be a trusted Aide of Mr. Uche Nwosu.

When Community Watchdog Newspaper blew the news of the missing Bailout funds, Comrade Nwadike Precious U – The publisher was promptly arrested by Mr. Uche Nwosu and sent to prison on trumped up charges. The court would later discharge and acquit Comrade Nwadike of any wrong doing when the Okorocha’s have left government house.

Until this day that Nwaogwugwu writes, no satisfactory explanation has been given to IMO people of the whereabouts of the N26.8 Billion which the FG gave to Imo State government to pay pensioners and worker’s salaries.

The alleged missing Bailout funds is the primary reason why the Imo pensioners are still owed over 50 months salary arrears till today while the man who was entrusted with the fund lives in inexplicable opulence.

Mr. Uche Nwosu who was without any traceable means of livelihood before he was appointed to oversee the bailout funds is today an emergency philanthropist with claims to be helping the poor while he still could not give account of the whereabouts of our bailout funds as the committee Chairman on disbursement which has rendered thousands of deserving Imolites who served the state meritoriously for 35 years impoverished.

I hereby call on our performing action Governor, the #PeoplesGovernor Hope Uzodimma to probe the whereabouts of the money with a view of getting Mr. Uche Nwosu who has been fingered in the missing of the funds to account for it.
