The Imo State chapter of the Labour Party may be set to experience good fortunes, as displaced top politicians in Imo State are set to join the party in their numbers.

Investigation revealed that the Labour Party has turned into the last resort for politicians in the state, due to the emergence of former Anambra State governor Peter Obi, as the party’s presidential candidate.

Labour Party in Imo State is reportedly filing candidates for all the positions to be contested in the state, from House of Assembly, to the Senate and even Governorship.

Our investigations has also revealed that politicians who failed at the primaries of big parties such as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and as well as those who claimed to have “withdrewn” from the ruling APC’s primaries have rushed into Labour Party.

It was learnt that Peter Obi would be getting a lot of support especially from the South East, following PDP’s decision to field Atiku Abubakar who is Fulani as Presidential candidates, while the APC is presenting Tinubu who is Yoruba, as their candidate.

The state office of Labour Party which formerly was deserted, has now become a beehive of activities, which politicians seeking for the party’s tickets to contest in the 2023 election.
