In preparation for International Identity Day coming up in September and UN sustainable development goal for legal identity for all by 2030, NIMC has opened a logo design competition for Nigerian students. September of every year is marked to celebrate International Identity of every human. The NIMC in other to make it even more attractive has opened its door for students to compete on graphic design.

Aside the logo design, participants are also requested to include a concept explanation not exceeding 200 words. So, this will offer students the opportunity to uniquely relate their design work to real life issues. The concept explanation will further describe their creative abilities. Furthermore, those who would be reviewing their works will of course asses their ability to pay attention to details. 

Who can participate:

The competition is open to Nigerian Pupils from Primary Schools as well as Students in Secondary Schools and Tertiary institutions. So, competition cuts across all age grades in primary, secondary and tertiary institutions. The winners are selected from each category.

Things to include in the Concept Design

1. NIN,
2. Name of school/institution,
3. Class/level,
4. The design approach/steps,
5. The inspiration behind the concept,
6. The advantage over the existing logo,
7. Graphics style and typography,
8. Colours etc.

Rewards

The winners from each category will be invited to the 2024 International ID Day in Abuja for the presentation of the award by the Director-General of the Commission on Monday 16th September, 2024.

Application Closing Date

Application to the 2024 NIMC Graphic Design Competition closes on Friday, 16th August, 2024.

Method of Application

Interested and qualified applicant should send their Designs, accompanied by concept notes to idday2024@nimc.gov.ng . Logo Design should be the subject of the email.

Note

1. NIMC staff and family members are excluded from participating in this competition,
2. Joint design is allowed,
3. This competition is aimed at celebrating and appreciating individual’s unique identity and creativity, therefore, NIMC will verify all submissions to ensure its originality,
4. Late submission will not be accepted,
5. This application is completely free of charge.
