by Nnaemeka David
As political parties in the country get set to finalize plans to select or elect their flag bearers for the 2023 general elections, various aspirants are canvasing the length and breath talking to delegates and leaders on why they should be given a chance to be the candidate of their political parties. The aspirants while conversing with their party men and women tactically market themselves, they bring their antecedence to play and enumerate their manifesto.
One man whose antecedence is glaring and won’t have to be loquacious or garrulousious in approach is the former Governor of Imo state, Dr Ikedi Ohakim. He is a thorough breed that bridges the gap between the rich and the poor.
While a governor, Ohakim was able to within four years provide an enabling environment for a massive job creation, 10000 jobs for the young graduates amongst others rings a bell, Imo state was a state known widely as a clean and neat state with trees and ornaments planted all over the state, this was accomplished under his clean and green initiative, the state was turned to a construction site with various projects started and completed by his administration.
Indeed, Dr Ikedi Ohakim is passionate about the development of Okigwe zone and presents the best opportunity for the zone to be integrated into national politics, he will use his wealth of experience to attract unprecedented democratic dividends to the zone, he knows the job hence, won’t be needing time to settle in. APC as a party should look at the possibility of fielding grassroot oriented politicians for the 2023 elections.
Ohakim is tested and trusted
