Obowo Leaders, Chike Okafor, former Speaker Kennedy Ibeh Others Pass Vote Of Confidence on Uzodinma’s 3R Government

It was a beehive of activities and monumental outing on Tuesday, 20th September, 2022 at Obowo Council Headquarters, Otoko as broad spectrum of Obowo society, comprising of top APC leaders, expanded Executive Committee members of the party drawn from the ten political wards, Local Government Party Executives, twenty-two Autonomous Communities’ President Generals, political office holders, interest groups and others met and unanimously passed a vote of implicit confidence on the 3R Shared Prosperity Government in Imo State under Senator Hope Odidika Uzodimma.

According to the participants, the Governor has endeared himself to them, won their heart and admiration because of his marvelous works across the State, especially his special attention and interventions to Obowo Local Government Area where he has executed people oriented Projects and appointed several of their sons and daughters into sensitive positions of his Government which include but not limited to the renovation of the Country Home of their late sage and first Executive Governor of Imo State, Chief Sam Mbakwe, award of contracts for reconstruction of Owerri/Mbaise/Obowo/Umuahia high way, award of contract for the reconstruction of internal road within the Council Area known as Mbakwe road, creation of additional Development Center, appointment of Obowo indigenes into strategic Government positions etc.They described the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma as a God sent, friend and dependable ally to the people of Obowo who has demonstrated much commitment, steadfastness and love to the people of the Area and their development and for that reason, they pledged to redouble their support and loyalty to the Governor and his 3R Shared Prosperity Government and ensure that all the Candidates of the party, from the President, Governor, Senator, Houses of Representatives and State Assemblies are massively delivered in their Area in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

Speaking during the historic gathering, the ranking Member representing Okigwe South Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives Abuja, Rt. Hon. Deacon Chike Okafor who charged the atmosphere and gave direction to the meeting with his lead speech and subsequently capped it with a motion for vote of confidence on the Governor, averred that Obowo never had it so good in the past as the present 3R Shared Prosperity Administration has done for the people of the Area. He observed that the Governor could not have been so magnanimous, caring and done such transformative and impactful things that have direct bearing on their people if he is not a good friend or someone with special interest in their progress and development.

Deacon Chike added that they should show how happy and appreciative they are over those good gestures and positive contributions, by reassuring the Governor of their unflinching loyalty and continued support and there and then moved a motion for implicit confidence on the Governor which was unanimously passed and a resolution adopted in that regard for onward transmission to the Executive Governor of Imo State. He urged the members of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Obowo to be in high spirit and step up vigorous campaign to win all the elective offices, reminding them that as members of the party in government and power at all levels, they should dominate the environment and have upper hand than those in the opposition and reassured them that the resources needed to prosecute a successful election which they are better placed to win will be massively made available to them in that regard.

Other prominent leaders who spoke and corroborated with Deacon Chike Okafor include, Lady Ineh Love, the Imo State Commissioner for Housing, Chief EJK Onyebuchi former Chairman of Imo State Council of Elders, Rt. Hon. Kennedy Ibeh, the immediate past Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Lady Patience Mbakwe, former Commissioner in the State and first Daughter to the late Sage and first Executive Governor of Imo State,Chief Sam Mbakwe and others. Lady Ineh in her remark observed that Senator Uzodimma is a magnanimous and development driven leader whose transformative impact on Obowo will remain ever green in the people’s memory. The immediate past Speaker, Rt. Hon Kennedy Ibeh who utilized the platform to formally inform the people of Obowo of his resignation as the Speaker of the State House of Assembly on personal ground, expressed appreciation to the Governor and the ruling APC in the State for giving him the opportunity to serve at such exalted level of Public office and pledged his continued undiluted loyalty to the Governor, APC and the 3R Shared Prosperity Government in State. He also reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC wins all the elective offices come 2023 general elections in Obowo, beginning from the Presidency, National Assembly, Governorship and State Assembly positions.

The attendees were in high spirit as they reaffirmed their commitment to a united and prosperous Obowo where the interest of the people supersedes every other consideration, even as they resolved to continue to work in concert to support and show absolute loyalty to the Governor and the ruling APC in the State in the overall interest of the development of the Area and Imo State at large.

The meeting recorded a large turn out of prominent leaders and Stakeholders which include but not limited to; Rt. Hon. Deacon Chike Okafor, Member representing Okigwe South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives Abuja, Rt. Hon. Kennedy Ibeh, immediate past Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Lady Love Ine, Hon. Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Lady Patience Mbakwe, former Commissioner in Imo State, Chief E.J.K Onyebuchi, elder statesman and former Chairman of Imo State Elders Council, Dr. Raymond Emerenini, former Executive Chairman of Obowo LGA, Hon. Chief Ifeanyichukwu Onwuenyiagba, Former Commissioner for Youths, Sole Administrator of Obowo LGA, Hon. Pius Uwaleme, the APC Chairman for Obowo LGA, Dr. Eli Dibia, Coordinator of Obowo East Development Center, Chief C.Y. Chukwu, the Coordinator of Obowo West Development Center, Hon. Onwunali and others.
