Earlier, the Rivers State House of Assembly building was destroyed by fire, allegedly due to alleged plans to initiate impeachment proceedings against Governor Sim Fubara.

  • Reports have that lawmakers have begun impeachment proceedings against Governor Fubara.

Police officers attacked and doused Governor Sim Fubara with water on Monday morning, causing commotion in the Rivers State House of Assembly complex.

With dozens of his supporters, Governor Fubara had arrived to the Assembly building in anticipation of the lawmakers starting the impeachment process against him.

The governor is among the mob that police officers use water to scatter in the incident’s video footage.
