In Imo State, over 1,800 inmates of the Correctional Center are still at large due to the attack it suffered during the year. Ever since that ugly incident, the state has experienced series of insecurity attacks but fortunately, this unpleasant experiences were arrested by the prompt intervention of His Excellency the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma.

As Imolites converge for the Christmas celebration, proactively, the State Government has beefed up security network in the State for the safety of everyone. Therefore, there’s an improved presence of security agencies across the State with different approach and Job description, and while it’s expected that they would conduct themselves in the most professional manner, one cannot take away our peculiar reactions to human factors in the face of provocation.

As a guide, Imolites are advised to go about their normal legitimate businesses while comporting themselves in the most civil manner devoid of provocative actions. The security agents present in the State were redeployed from various units of their agencies, including tactical squads and there rules of engagement defer from that of conventional police unit.

This became necessary due to the need to safeguard lives and properties of Imolites and residents of the State.

The state government will stop at nothing to see that all Imolites are protected before, during, after the yuletide season and even beyond. The administration of His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma has already made security the topmost priority.
