Imo Must Recover, Regain Her Pride – Uzodimma

The Imo State Governor, His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodinma has assured the people of Imo State that the state will recover and regain it’s pride in Nigeria as the most peaceful and safe place in Nigeria. The Governor gave this reassurance at a political gathering of the All Progressive Grand All Congress (APC) held on Saturday August 12, 2023 at Landmark Event Centre, New Owerri.

In his speech, Governor Uzodinma reiterated his government resolve to return Imo to it’s former peaceful state and stated that his administration is already doing a good job in returning calmness and a serene environment that is safe for investment and businesses to thrive. He added that the people in Hospitality businesses can testify to the fact with the increase in patronage and traffic in hotels. 

Governor Hope Uzodinma however advises those politicians that create insecurity in Imo state and South East to desist from it while assuring Imo people that he will continue in his campaign and fight against insecurity and criminals so as to sustain this peace and harmony that has returned to Imo.

He pointed out that those creating insecurity uses it as a campaign strategy, telling imo people that they will make Imo safe when they are voted . He therefore advised fellow governorship candidates from opposition to go ahead with their campaign and allow the electorate vote their choice without being coerced and harassed. He wondered why they go about their campaign without molestation and yet they say the state is not safe. He noted the such politicians adding to the fact that many innocent people lost their lives, it causes the state huge amount of money that should be channeled into infrastructures like school, hospitals,  increase workers wages and other good things to manage insecurity which leave a huge loss and draws Imo state back from development.

The Governor, stated that the industrial policies of late Governor of old Imo late Dee Sam Mbakwe has been slow from implimentation by his prosperity  3R government because of funding gaps here and there.

Uzodinma urged Imo people to jettison the fear of sit  at home and go about their normal businesses with full convince that the shared prosperity government is poised to make sure that imo is safe .

” We have successfully checkmated the criminals and there is no more indiscriminate killings, burning of houses, destruction of state assets and attacks on security personnels are gradually coming to an end. God has exposed the people behind these crimes and criminality in  Imo and My government are right behind them and hunting them down” he concluded.

The meeting was attended by All the Political heads of APC in the state, Political appointees, Traditional Rulers Government Officers both serving and retired, youth and women leaders, Clergy and other party faithfuls.
