Imo guber: Why I will support APC candidate, Uzodinma, says Uche Nwosu

Mr Uche Nwosu, Imo State governorship candidate under the Action Alliance AA, in the 2019 general election and son-in-law to former state governor Rochas Okorocha has reiterated his commitment to the growth and success of the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress APC, both at the state and national level. 

He said being a strong and committed party man, he would work to ensure the victory of the party’s governorship candidate in the state.

Nwosu, who stated this while speaking to reporters shortly after paying solidarity visit to the newly installed national chairman of the APC, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje at the party national secretariat in Abuja, maintained that his support for Uzodinma’s governorship second term re-election was based on his loyalty and allegiance to the party.

Nwosu who also aspired for the governorship of Imo state on the platform of the opposition Action Alliance (AA) expressed optimism that Ganduje would reposition the party.

He further ruled out the possibility of him aspiring for the governorship of the state in the main time and solicited collective support for Ganduje and APC. 

He said, “I am a committed member of the party in Imo state and would always work for the progress of the party,” he said.

“I am not running for the seat for now. Hope Uzodinma is the candidate of the party. We can’t have two candidates of APC in Imo state.”

Speaking on the Coup in neighbouring Niger Republic, he described the act as not only condemnable but unacceptable in modern society, stressing that it would negatively affect the socio-economic development of the country.

He however said, “the coup in Niger serves as a wake up call on those entrusted with the leadership of the entire countries in Africa to ensure good governance in their respective domains.”

And on the current hardship experience in Nigeria caused by the removal of fuel subsidy, Nwosu appealed to Nigerians to be patient with the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration, which expressing hope of better days ahead.
