The Imo State House of Assembly on Wednesday swore-in member, Hon. Blyden Amajirionwu (APC) as member representing Ngor-Okpala Constituency to replace Hon Tochi Okereke, the lawmaker whose seat was declared vacant over absence.
Amajirionwu was elected in a bye-election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission on February 26, to fill the vacant position.
The swearing-in was presided by the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon Kenedy Ibe, who charged the newly-sworn-in lawmaker to abide by the laws of the house.
“We are happy to receive you as one of us, and pray that you continue to abide by the oath of office you have taken. “We are sure your presence here will contribute to the development of the House and the state,” he said.
The Speaker congratulated Hon. Amajirionwu on his success at the poll, after which he took the oath of office and his seat.
The Speaker further lauded all the lawmakers, the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state and the people of Ngor-Okpala for working for the ruling party.
