Imo APC Lawmakers Who Lost Primaries Remain In Dilemma
.Undecided Over What Next
Majority of the members of the Imo State House of Assembly who are of the APC extraction and couldn’t party’s ticket to run for the next year election are at crossroads.
Reprts has it on good authority that despite alleged promises handed to them by the governor of the state for either House of Reps or House of Assembly return tickets, only few managed to succeed. Or the 21 APC members in the House, only nine were successful, while the rest lost out.
Our correspondent monitoring events in the House of Assembly has it on good authority that apart from feeling bad and disappointed over the outcome, the members who failed to pick tickets are confused on next political destination for them.
Apparently aware of the implications of dumping APC for another party to run the election, the affected lawmakers are scared stiff to shift to another party to avoid being victims of sack.
It would be recalled that one of the members who jumped to another party from APC, sometime this year, Hon Obinna Okwara was expelled from the House by the Speaker.
A source in the House told newsmen that the members are confused either to remain or move to another party to run next year’s election.
“You can see that many of the members who failed to pick a ticket are now confused and helpless. They don’t know what to do at the moment.
While some are scared to move, others have become speechless for a while. We don’t know their plans because they are confused at the moment”
While two former Speakers; Chiji Collins and Paul Emeziem were unlucky to pick a ticket, the incumbent Kennedy Ibeh and Deputy Speaker, Amara Iwanyanwu, including Anayo Onyemaechi, the majority leader were successful.
