Ihedioha’s Planned Defection To APGA Causing Ripples In PDP
GLOBAL ASSOCIATION OF CONCERNED IMO YOUTHS (GACIY)
PRESS RELEASE
IHEDIOHA’S PLANNED DEFECTION TO APGA CAUSING RIPPLES IN PDP
If not that it belies his intention to defect to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), we would have been amused at how easy it was for Mr. Emeka Ihedioha to ingratiate himself with the Governor-elect of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Soludo, given that he prefers to unleash a mischief of e-rats to rationalize violent non-state activities while denouncing the performing 3R administration in Imo.
We understand that his hurried soppy love message to Soludo is already causing ripples in the PDP but we are not surprised. Emeka’s planned exit comes as party faithful have begun to transfer affection to Sen. SamDaddy, the party’s National Secretary, thus curbing his hype.
While in Abuja for the national convention, Emeka’s Man-Friday stormed out of the convention because he couldn’t stomach the barefaced hypocrisy of pretending to adopt SamDaddy as the consensus Chief Scribe of the party, a man whose campaign they banned party members from attending in their respective LGAs in the run up to the party’s guber primary. Party members were warned to treat SamDaddy like a leper and to even reject his money. The Man-Friday did not also fancy the realignment that took place in Abuja among the political blocs in the party. So he walked out, as agreed with Emeka, though Emeka stayed back.
Emeka Ihedioha had transferred his support and that of the Imo PDP to APGA’s candidate in the just concluded Anambra guber election, abandoning his Party’s candidate to fend for himself. In the heat of the campaigns and the election proper, Ihedioha was no where to he found. His minions rather mobilized support for APGA’s candidate, Mr. Soludo, in keeping with the terms of the defection.
While he is at it, we should point out the irony in his so-called goodwill message to Soludo just in case anyone missed it. Recall that Emeka posed as Governor in Imo for Seven and a half months, — after fabricating more than 50% of votes ascribed to him from his kindred in what is now seen as the most audacious electoral theft in Nigeria’s history — before the Supreme Court sent him packing.
He therefore has no business, no moral standing, no right, and no authority to give advice, pontificate, or even congratulate the winner of an SUG election much less a gobernatorial poll.
The Governor-elect of Anambra State should see Emeka’s message as a bad joke and ignore it. He must also maintain a chasm between himself and the likes of Emeka if he intends to satisfy the good people of Anambra State.
