Ihedioha In Secret Meeting With Obi, Soludo, Obiano, Umeh, Others Over Defection?

Information reaching CrudePen, has it that the Former Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Emeka Ihedioha may have engaged in a high powered secret meeting with a select Anambra heavyweight politicians ahead of the 2023 general elections.

An insider source who monitored the proceedings revealed that Hon Ihedioha in company of an erstwhile Governor of Imo State, Chief Achike Udenwa was led into the meeting by a two term Governor of Anambra state, Mr. Peter Obi.

The source further hinted that others in the meeting include, Governor Willie Obiano, Anambra State Governor-elect, Prof Charles Soludo, ex-National Chairman of APGA, Senator Victor Umeh and a onetime Minister of Interior from Imo state whose name was not disclosed.

According to the insider source, part of the items that dominated the discussions was how All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) structure in the five South East states should be ceded to major political brokers with reasonable financial strength to secure victory for the party.

However, our source revealed that all efforts to engage the former Deputy Speaker, Hon Ihedioha in an interview to ascertain his involvement in a secret meeting dominated by APGA stalwarts proved abortive.

But our source disclosed that an ex-APGA National Chairman, Senator Umeh who came with the Anambra Governor-elect, Prof Soludo said, “the meeting was in line with our party’s resolve to woo members of other political parties to enable us secure victory in Abia, Imo, Ebonyi and Enugu states.”

“Last week, we welcomed delegations from Abia and Ebonyi states who are eager to join our party after they discovered that their political interests will not be guaranteed if they continue to remain in their parties. Today, we are still negotiating better modalities as Imo state remains our major target. We are very careful with Imo delegation owing to the fact that one of them, Rochas Okorocha betrayed our agreement in 2011 after APGA structure was ceded to him” Senator Umeh stated.

It can be recalled that prior to Anambra state Governorship election last year, Hon Ihedioha and his political supporters were rumored to have secretly sponsored the APGA candidate against the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Valentine Ozigbo.

Also recently, some online newspapers had revealed how Hon Ihedioha is working secretly to defect to APGA ahead of the 2023 general elections in the state, citing his lost of grip of PDP as his major reason.

The allegation that Hon Ihedioha and his supporters are seriously rooting for a change of political party to find succor in APGA was swiftly denied by their media handlers.

However, the latest secret meeting with some Anambra APGA leaders weekend gives credence to the publication by online newspapers that Hon Ihedioha and his supporters are on their way out of PDP to protect their political interests in the 2023 Governorship election in Imo state.
