For Prof Chinedu Asinu-Anosike (CONA), Imo comes first at all times.

This is why he has always stood on the side of the people of Imo State, even when he is misunderstood by the same people he stands by.

During the regime of Dr Ikedi Ohakim, Prof Chinedu Asinu-Anosike (CONA) as his childhood friend offered himself towards ensuring every people oriented policy of that administration was effectively carried out.

Prof understood the man Ikedi Ohakim, and knew he meant well for the people of Imo State, but Ndi Imo did not see what he saw and erroneously believed every lie told against Ohakim by the opposition.

The people Prof Chinedu Asinu-Anosike (CONA) tried to protect, were deceived into putting Imo into the hands of the man that would put Imo through eight of the worst years in the history of the state.

Senator Rochas Okorocha was a personal age-long friend of Prof Chinedu Asinu-Anosike (CONA).

Prof has known Okorocha personally for over 30 years and even produced the campaign materials for his first ever constitutional conference elections at free cost and even supported financially and materially his Rochas Foundation College at inception in Owerri just as he knows Senator Hope Uzodimma and Dr Ikedi Ohakim.

In 2003 when Senator Hope Uzodimma and Dr Ikedi Ohakim contested for the Governorship seat of Imo State, Prof undertook all the branding and printing jobs they needed.

It was still the same in 2007 when Dr Ikedi Ohakim would eventually emerge as the Govenror of Imo State.

In Uzodimma and Ohakim, Prof saw men who mean well for the people of Imo State, and have always supported them.

Prof Chinedu Asinu-Anosike (CONA) knows Okorocha better than most people in Imo State, and understood that Okorocha didn’t mean well for the people.

For the entire eight years of Okorocha’s administration, despite enticements offered, Prof stood on the side of the people of Imo State. Their pain, his pain.

When the brief era of Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha came on board, Prof saw another man who he believed meant well for Imo people, and he offered himself to support Ihedioha to bring the dividends of democracy to the people of Imo State.

The Advent of the Senator Hope Uzodimma administration, saw Prof Chinedu Asinu-Anosike (CONA) yet again putting Imo people first, as he has thrown his support behind an administration that has the well-being of the people of Imo State at heart.

Why is Prof Chinedu Asinu-Anosike (CONA) backing the Senator Hope Uzodimma administration?

Chiefly of all the reasons for his support for Senator Hope Uzodimma is Uzodimma’s recovery drive.

When Senator Hope Uzodimma decided to continue the process of recovery of our looted commonwealth, initiated by the brief Ihedioha administration, Prof knew Uzodimma was the right person for the job.

As an advocate for recovery of our stolen property by the Okorocha administration himself, Prof threw his support behind the Uzodimma administration, as he did with Ihedioha’s administration, to help in any way possible, in the recovery of the lands and state resources diverted to private ownership by Okorocha and his family members.

Senator Hope Uzodimma’s infrastructural development drive, is yet another reason for his support for the Uzodimma administration.

Uzodimma demonstrated his dedication to giving the people of Imo State quality projects, unlike what we saw under the Rochas Okorocha administration throughout the eight years of his administration.

Prof Chinedu Asinu-Anosike (CONA) is not interested in playing politics with the lives of the people and their welfare.

He has always put the good of the people first and as long as you have it in your heart to serve the people of Imo State well, you can always count on his support.

Prof Chinedu Asinu-Anosike (CONA) would always say, “What do you expect to achieve when we are always playing politics of bitterness and blackmail against one another? Today you fight Mr A so that you can get into power, and when you get into power, Mr C will fight you the same way you fought Mr A and the circle keeps going round and round. In all that, the people suffer because in that confusion brought about by your politics of bitterness and blackmail, true development cannot be achieved. That is the reason I came up with the HOPEunified Imolites Group, to forge a way forward for Imo State under the watch of Senator Hope Uzodimma, in unity and purpose, so that Imo State can once again return to the path of sustained development which started during the time of Dr Ikedi Ohakim and was unfortunately sidetracked by that politics of bitterness and blackmail.”

Prof Chinedu Asinu-Anosike (CONA) believes that we can only achieve greatness in Imo, if we have a united front and that is the reason for the formation of the HOPEunified Imolites Group for progressive thinking Imolites.
