Ex-President Jonathan Hosts Peter

Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, played host to Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi and his running mate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed.

Obi’s visit Naija News understands was to further his consultation ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The former governor of Anambra State took to his microblogging platform, Twitter on Thursday to confirm the visit to Jonathan.

The presidential hopeful said he and Baba-Ahmed briefed the former leader of their intention and also exchanged views on other issues of national interest.

Obi who shared photos on his Twitter page, thanked the former president for his wise counsel during the visit.

He tweeted: “President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan received Dr Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed and me last night. The visit was very cordial. We briefed him on the progress of our presidential campaign, and also exchanged views on several issues of national interest. Grateful for his time and wise counsel.”

2023: Avoid Voting Killers Into Power – Goodluck Jonathan Sends Strong Warning To Nigerians 

Jonathan had on Sunday cautioned citizens against voting the wrong set of persons into power in 2023. The former president said with the wrong set of people in power, the citizens will continue to suffer.

Jonathan stressed that those who kill in order to get into power will continue to kill to remain in power and therefore cautioned Nigerians against voting for such people during the the2023 elections.

Naija News reports the former President made the submission while speaking in Uyo during a special interdenominational service to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the creation of Akwa Ibom State.

He said, “In 2023, you must not make the mistake to vote killers.

Those who will carry knives, guns, and all kinds of gadgets to go and kill people because of politics, are the enemies of society. If you kill to become a leader, you will continue to kill to remain a leader.

“The people will continue to suffer. Make sure that from the House of Assembly to the House of Representatives to Senate to governor, you vote the right people in Akwa Ibom State.”
