…expresses continuous support to Uzodimma’s govt

“All those involved on illegal possession/ acquisition of government landed property(ies) shall definitely face the wrath of the law.Yes, it doesn’t matter how related or highly placed such person might be, the law must take action”, says Imo State Governor, Sen Hope Uzodimma.

Upon the above assurance, the governor who does not derive pleasure in land grabbing, promised the people of Imo State especially those living around the Owerri metropolis and it’s environs, that he will ensure the recovering of their lands that was illegally acquired by some unscrupulous elements.

A news platform claimed that the immediate past Special Adviser to the Governor of Imo State, Sen. Hope Uzodimma, on Drainage and Maintenance, Chief Uwadi Obiekea, was arrested and detained at the Imo Police Command State CID courtesy of the office of the governor on Land Recovery, recently over his alleged involvement on land racketeering.

That was following the ongoing breakthroughs so far on record by the Shared Prosperity Government (3R’s) through the office of Land Recovery and his proactive team.

Still on investigation, a news platform stumbled on the accused person, Chief Obiekea in Owerri on Monday, January 30th 2024, and in a swift media interview, he released his own version of the story of his alleged arrest which he described as baseless and unfounded, even as he disclosed that he was never arrested as paddled by his political detractors.

Hear him, ” I am Hon.Chief Uwadi Obiekea, a known and recognized Government Developer and also the immediate past Special Adviser to the Imo State Governor, Sen.Hope Uzodimma, on Drainage and Maintenance;

“I was consulted and I officially cleared the Uratta-Unity-Layout in Owerri North LGA of the state. It is part of Shared Prosperity Government policies to ensure rapid development and urbanization of Owerri into a mega city;

“I was invited by the Department of Land Inquiries of the police but I was not arrested nor detained. I have never been arrested by anybody. Though, their investigation is ongoing but surprisingly, I am hearing that I was arrested. I was not arrested rather I was invited and information from knowledge about the whole issue was recorded. Now, you can see and feel me that I am not arrested;

“I only cleared and fenced the entire land for the proposed developmental project for the Shared Prosperity Government;

“The contract was awarded to me by the Imo Ministry of Lands through the immediate past Commissioner for Lands, Hon. Noble Atulegwu Abiaso;

“Truly, I am ready to go back to the site whenever the office of Lands Inquiries must have concluded their inquiries. I am ready and expressively passionate to go back to work because I don’t have any problem with anybody”, Obiekea submitted.
