Plot To Kill Nnamdi Kanu: I Was Arrested 11 Times During Tyrant Buhari Regime; We Won’t Allow Femi Adesina Rewrite History

A human rights activist and convener of ConcernedNIG, Deji Adeyanju, has recounted how he was haunted, arrested and almost killed during the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Adeyanju noted that it was not easy to survive what he described as the tyrant Buhari regime, saying he and many other Nigerian activists and youths were attacked and almost killed during protests.

He recalled how he and others were almost killed at protest venues while many #EndSARS protesters were not lucky to survive the shootings by Nigerian security agencies.

Adeyanju also recalled how he was arrested 11 times during the Buhari administration and how personnel of the Department of State Services (DSS) opened fire on him and other protesters when he led a protest at the Unity Fountain in Abuja.

Reacting to a statement credited to Buhari’s former Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, in his book on Buhari’s administration, that former President Buhari could have killed the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, but chose to rendition him to Nigeria from Kenya, Adeyanju said that Nigerians would not allow Adesina to rewrite the history of Buhari’s administration in the country.

Adeyanju in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, “It was not easy surviving the tyrant Buhari regime. On many occasions we were almost killed at protest venues but many #EndSARS protestors were not so lucky.

“It was just God that saved some of us from losing our lives. We will never allow cretins like Adesina to rewrite history.

“But Buhari got me arrested 11 times during his 8-yrs term. They opened fire at us when I led a protest to DSS headquarters, at Unity Fountain several times as well.

“Attacked me at the Human Rights Commission, etc. History will always vindicate the just. Buhari the dictator is gone.

“So Buhari contemplated killing Nnamdi Kanu? We will know how many times they tried to kill some of us one day before sending us to prison several times.”
