NANS Endorses Uzodinma for Second Term in Office

Ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in Imo State billed for November 11th, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has thrown their weight behind Gov. Hope Uzodinma in his re-election bid in securing a second term seat in office.

The Nigerian students who came in their large number from the 36 states of the Federation and the federal capital territory for their pre-convention meeting in the state capital hinted that they were moved to support the governor’s campaign with material evidence after spending about three days in the state and saw the good works the governor has rendered to the people of the state.

Speaking during the visit to the governor on behalf of the Nigerian students, Comrade Usman Barambu, the National President of the association said that the governor has worked for not just the state but the entire Nigerian students to merit the award as Patron and also warranted the support for the governor’s re-election bid.

The NANS pre-convention meeting is an event which holds to set up their electoral committee for their upcoming elections usually rotated amongst states and Imo State happens to be this year’s hosting states.

In supporting the re-election bid of the governor, the student body donated campaign materials to Uzodinma among which is 10, 000 pieces of 60 leaves exercise books, 5,000 pieces of Tee Shirts and 5,000 pieces of campaign billboards to be mounted across the state including on the buses operated by the students.

In his response, Gov. Hope Uzodinma thanked the entire Nigerian students for coming together to honor and support him while promising that he will continue to do things that will uplift the wellbeing of the Nigerian students which he identified as the generality of the Nigerian people.

According to him “You represent the citadel of growth; if you’re not strong we will never be strong and when you’re properly educated it means you are going to be a successful person in the society”

Uzodinma used the opportunity to remind the students that he is doing everything within his legitimate power to get the youths properly employed as he announced that in few days time, 15,000 youths mostly members of the Nigerian students will be graduated from the free digital skills which the state government is sponsoring.
