2023: Zoning Is A Conspiracy Against Igbo Presidency– Ohanaeze Insists, Rejects VP Slot

Chief George Obiozor, the President- General of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo organization, has issued a strong warning to all southeastern presidential aspirants, contesting across all political parties in the country.

Obiozor firmly cautioned the presidential aspirants against the temptation of jettisoning their ambitions and settling for Vice Presidential slot of their political parties.

This was contained in a statement issued by the socio- political organisation, after addressing the Imeobi Ohanaeze at the organization’ s secretariat.

Obiozor affirmed his resolve, that the southeast should be allowed to produce Nigeria’ s next president.

Obiozor stated that it was the moral thing to do, stating that it was historically justifiable for the Southeast to produce the country’ s next President.

Obiozor stater that the call for an Igbo person, to be elected as a President of Nigeria was morally and historically justifiable.

He insisted that it is a project every Igbo must be committed to, stating that Ohanaeze Ndigbo had reached out to several Nigerian leaders in respect to the right of the South East, to produce a President for the Federal Republic of Nigeria, after President Muhammadu Buhari.

Obiozor insisted that the double dealings surrounding zoning and rotation of power was being orchestrated conspiracy to deny the South East of their right to produce a president.

Obiozor vowed that those working against the Igbo project, no matter how hard they try, would surely fail.

He insisted that the project of making an Igbo person President was a right and just cause.

He also encouraged all the Presidential aspirants from the South East, urging them to remain focused, tenacious and optimistic in their pursuit of their ambiton to lead the country.

Obiozor revealed that Ohanaeze Ndigbo was fully in support of the resolution by the Southern and Middle Belt Leadership Forum (SMBLF), whereby it was agreed that no southerner should agree to deputise a Northern candidate of any party.

He revealed that the Political Action Committee (PAC) of Ohanaeze Ndigbo was still meeting prominent Nigerians, to urge them to understand the need for a South easterner to become president of Nigeria.

The South East is presenting several politicians desirous of becoming Nigeria’ s next president including, former Anambra governor Peter Obi, the current Minister of Labour and Employment Chris Ngige, the Minister of State for Education Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, former Abia governor and Senate Chief Whip Orji Uzor Kalu, former Imo Governor Rochas Okorocha as well as the Ebonyi State governor Dave Umahi.
