Peter Obi is the most serious presidential aspirant from the South East

Among all the Presidential aspirants from the Southeast from both the PDP and APC, Mr. Peter Obi has shown the most seriousness. He has hit the ground running, traversing all parts of Nigeria on consultation with members of his Party.

If other Southeast aspirants could follow his lead, then, we could as well graduate from merely demanding for the presidency to be zoned to the Southeast, to actually contending for it.

Senator Anyim Pius Anyim has also being making some good moves. He began his consultations earlier than Obi, but it is clear that the genuinely humble and terrifically organized multibillionaire has more energy, more ‘logistics’ and definitely more drive.

It appears that most or all of the APC aspirants from the Southeast are waiting for some signals from some oligarchs before they can set out on the real journey. Some of them appear to be inhibited by some political baggages.

It is time for my Party’s aspirants to take off and hit the ground running. Nobody will drop the Party’s tickets on our laps. We have to fight for it. Let them show some seriousness by setting about their campaigns or they coalesce with more serious aspirants like Peter Obi to ensure that this opportunity does not slip off our hands this time.
