IMHA 2023: More Trouble For Chiji Collins As Queen Jumps into the Ring

More headache seems to be coming the way of embattled Isiala Mbano House of Assembly member and former Assembly Speaker, Hon. Chiji Collins, following his recent episode with Isiala Mbano youths, as popular media consultant, Adaku Queen Duru declares her interest in unseating him, come the 2023 General Elections.

Recall that youths of Isiala Mbano had served Chiji Collins quit notice, citing underperformance as the reason for their decision.

Chiji Collins had not taken the notice kindly, as in a dramatic twist of events, he threw away the Kolanut placed in front of him during the event.

In what appears to be the first person to get into the ring for the face-off against Collins, Isiala Mbano born popular blogger and media expert, Adaku Duru popularly known as Quingist, have come forward to make her interest to represent Isiala Mbano people in the State Assembly known.

Duru pointed out that Isiala Mbano lacked representative that speaks for the people, and offers herself to be the voice of the voiceless.

Duru’s aspiration is getting a lot of interest from several quarters especially because she is a youth and also a woman.

Several people who have shown solidarity and support for her, believe Duru is the type of people that should be representing Imo people in the State and even National Assembly.

“I know her,” an Isiala Mbano indigene who spoke with CrudePen said. “She is dogged and determined. Always speaking her mind and at this time, we need people who aren’t afraid to speak out. Most of the people we have been sending or who send themselves and claim we sent them, are only interested in sharing the money, without any genuine interest in the people. I strongly support we give her a try.”

Duru has yet to declare the party she would be running with, while the return of Collins as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC, is highly in doubt, owing to his alleged closest to former Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, who is one of the biggest political foes of the Imo State governor and leader of the APC in the state, Senator Hope Uzodinma.

The episode with the Kolanut may have dealt a massive blow to Chiji Collins chances of emerging as the APC candidate come 2023, let alone returning as Isiala Mbano representative at the State Assembly.
